Hey everyone, as promised I’m back to keep you updated about my future sewing endeavors.
Firstly I have been doing a little bit of commission home sewing for my mother’s coworkers making slipcovers for beds to be disguised as couches. That isn’t really interesting but it’s something.
The BIG news, as obvious by the title, is that I am working on another theater show! This time a senior thesis of a different take on Hamlet by William Shakespeare. It will be going up in November of this year so of course the director and I have started the design phase of the project now. I will be making some of the costume pieces by hand so I need to get a head start on it. I don’t know how much of the project I can talk about just yet but hopefully I’ll be able to talk about some of the more interesting, general features.
I will be doing the costumes for the show and am currently in the ‘sharing pinterest inspiration’ stage of the process. She will be sending me the edited draft of the play sometime this week and then I will I have to have costume sketches done by the 5th so hopefully I will be able to go into more detail when I upload those designs.
In other news, the other projects I have going on for me this year are:
- Halloween costumes for my friend and I (Punk! Raven and Starfire)
- Finishing a dress for my mother that just needs some fitting, a hem and a lot of zipper work
- My birthday ball dress for George Washington’s birthday in February
- Costuming Henry V in the spring of next semester. (Yes, another show and yay more Shakespeare!)
- Possibly starting work on my first quilt!
Alright guys, that’s everything for now. I’ll hopefully be updating soon.
See ya!
